The company was started as a photo retail shop in Jakarta, capital city of Indonesia. The name of the photo shop is Merpati Photo. Merpati is a white pigeon, symbol of sincerity and peace-loving. As the time goes by, Merpati Photo has built reputation in town as the well-known chain photo retail shop.

Another company division was established to do the distribution for all the photography product throughout the country of Indonesia. The company name is MPP.
